The AHC is amazing. My great grandfather’s business ledgers from his dry goods store, The Leader, are preserved here. They are just over 100 years old — the leather cracked, the pages are thick — not like the thin pages we use today. It was awesome to turn each page and recognize some of the Laramie names — the Mathesons, John Coble, my Frazee family members, the list goes on and on. Thank you to the AHC for saving these for me to one day enjoy.

I am the family archivist for the Frazee-Shanton families of Laramie. My gr grandfather’s store was at the corner of 2nd & Grand, The Leader. Today it is Cross Country Connection. My gr grandparents lived at the corner of 6th & Grand. At one time the old house was the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house. We have a great time visiting Laramie. It feels like home.

Too funny to find this posted the first time I came across your blog. Last night my husband and I hooked up the computer to the TV for the first time and randomly picked this movie to watch from YouTube. I literally laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe. Love, love, love seeing the movie poster!

I have been researching family and other historical subjects for 50 or so years and highly recommend the American Heritiage Center and I use all of the sites listed here. The Wyoming Newspaper Project has been a great place for me to learn more about family, ranches and other subjects I am working on in Wyoming.

You do know that the Tribble episode came from a chapter in Robt. Anson Heinlein’s novel “The Rolling Stones”, right? As an aside, another name could have been “Wyoming Knott” who was a heroine of RAH’s “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress” which also had a character who was a grandmother of Castor and Pollux Stone (heroes of the other novel). RAH was a genius in tieing his “Future History” together. Too bad Star Trek didn’t acknowledge the genesis of that episode — Gerrold’s writing style is Heinleinesque.
